Your LinkedIn Profile Glow Up

by Sales in DACH
May 06, 2026

LinkedIn has evolved from a CV platform into the most important B2B sales channel in the DACH region. And yet most sales teams are using only 20% of its potential. Too much broadcasting, too little relationship-building. That changes today! πŸ‘

What the Data Says

You know us πŸ˜… We like looking into numbers first! And they are quite clear:

  • 46% of B2B buyers will only engage with a salesperson who has a complete LinkedIn profile (source: LinkedIn)

  • 78% of businesses that use social selling outperform those that don't (source: LinkedIn)

  • For 44% of B2B professionals, LinkedIn is their top social channel for industry insights and networking (source: Sopro)

3 Best Practices and how to put this to work

1. Rebuild your profile as a buyer-facing landing page

Build your profile based on who you want it to read and stick. Not based on you feeling good about yourself. Your profile is being read by prospects deciding whether to trust you. Show your mission statement in your slogan early on! "I help X achieve Y."

You slogan (the line below your profile photo) is responsible for +70% of your connection request acceptance rate!

Your banner, About section, and Featured block follow the same logic: what does the reader gain from engaging with you?

2. Comment strategically β€” before you pitch

In the DACH market, trust comes before conversation.

Identify 10 target accounts and engage authentically with their decision-makers' content for three weeks. Slow down the sales intent and hidden agenda.

A well-considered comment that demonstrates expertise makes you visible and trustworthy before you ever send a message. By the time you request a connection, you are not a stranger anymore.

3. Use content as a conversation opener

Post one concrete insight per week drawn from your actual work:

an observation from a customer call, a number that surprises, a question worth sitting with. No product marketing, but your personal perspective on a topic that is relevant to your prospects. DACH decision-makers follow people who consistently deliver substance.

🎯 Let's Optimise your LinkedIn Profile together!

Yesterday, we came together with a small group of sales professionals and took time specifically for them. No hyped-up 100+ attendee event. An intimate feedback session with individual support.

We went through their LinkedIn profiles, made instant changes, and finished with a clear, personalised next-step guide for everyone in the room.

The energy was focused. The feedback was specific. And every person left with a profile that actually works for them.

Missed it? Good news β€” we are doing it again.

Sales in North vs South of Germany πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ
After the D/A/CH edition took off, a bunch of you asked the obvious follow-up: What about inside the different countries?! The North-South / East-West divide is old, real, and still shapes how people do business today! That's why we decided to share a bit more insights into the different countries and start with Germany. ‼️ Disclaimer ‼️ This is a topic we can talk about for years and everyone ...
D≠A≠CH: 3 markets = 3 pitches
Do NOT treat "DACH" as one market with one pitch. Germany, Austria, and (German-speaking) Switzerland share a language, yes, but the Sales Culture does differ! Same words. Different rooms. ‼️Disclaimer: This week's newsletter is based on Conversations with Sales Reps and Research. If you're still not sure, find a Sales Rep in the country and ask them directly. They will have first-hand experien...
Turn GDPR in DACH into your Superpower 🦸
Most Sales Reps treat data protection like a checkbox or push it on to Legal to handle it In DACH, GDPR can be your superpower as it turns you into a trusted advisor rather than a seller. How you talk about data handling during the pitch, not after it, can be the thing that actually wins trust. The research: A representative survey of 2,000 German consumers found this: A third of Respondents sa...
