Before every cold call, demo, or tough follow-upā¦
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold for 2
Exhale slowly for 6
Repeat twice.
Why it works:
š§ You switch your nervous system from fight-or-flight to focus-and-flow
š„¶ You speak slower, sound calmer, and feel more in control
āļø 2. Write the Worst-Case Story (Then Rewrite It)
When stress hits, grab pen + paper. Ask:
āWhatās the story Iām telling myself right now?ā
Example:
āThey havenāt replied = theyāre not interested = Iām terrible at sales = Iāll miss target.ā
Now rewrite that story as if you were your own coach.
āThey havenāt replied = maybe theyāre busy. Iāll follow up with value and take a breath.ā
š« In the end you canāt control what they do.

But you can control how you talk to yourself.
š 3. Pick Your Role Before You Start
Before every sales interaction, ask:
āWho do I want to be in this moment?ā
šÆ The expert?
š¤ The guide?
š” The curious challenger?
Actors do this before every scene.
Top sellers do this before every meeting.
You donāt need to fake confidence.
You need to choose your posture.
