Let's shift the perspective to this:
The gatekeeper is not your enemy. Theyāre just doing their job: Protecting time.
So how do you get through?
You donāt just āconvinceā them.
You sound like you belong there.
A simple script that works, powered by Danny Wƶrns
Instead of overthinking it, keep it calm and natural:
You: āHi Ms. Müller, this is Danny Wƶrns from ABC Company. Nice to meet you.ā
š Pause.
Let them respond.
Then:
You: āMs. Müller, is Tobias available? Tobias Mayer? I just need to quickly align with him.ā
If they ask:
āWhat is this regarding?ā
You: āItās about (e.g. commission structures, specifically around the introduction of new SPIFs.) I just need his quick input as Head of Sales.ā
Thatās it. No pitch. No pressure. No over-explaining. Simply showing you belong here.

The mistake most people make
They try to be perfect.
