In Sales, we talk a lot about WHAT we say. But how often do we talk about HOW we say it?

🎭 My Story: From Stage to Sales
I started acting professionally at 16, won my first awards at 21, and studied in London and NYC before moving to London.
Then the pandemic hit, and my acting career disappeared overnight.
Thank God I chose Sales as my next challenge in life. Turns out, Acting Skills help IMMENSELY in Sales.
In my first 12 months, I:

Went on to become an AE where I hit 345%+ of my yearly quota.

🎻 The Sales Warm-Up
Before actors go on stage, they warm up. Sellers should too!
Not just reading notes, but physically warming up. Your body is your instrument, it performs only as well as you prepare it.
My favorite quick fix? The Shake Out!
- Shake your whole body for 30 seconds.
- Wake up your voice, energy, and presence.
A full warm-up takes 20-60 minutes, but this is an easy hack for busy sales days.
🎫 The 3 Acts of a Sales Call
Act 1: The Entrance – First Impressions Matter
Your first impression happens before you say a word.
📊 Fact: People subconsciously form expectations about you within 100 milliseconds.
💡 Pro Tip: Match what your buyer expects
Instead of forcing a “high-energy” or “authoritative” persona every time, adjust to their expectations:
- If they expect an analytical expert → Be the trusted advisor
- If they expect a high-energy innovator → Lean into confidence & enthusiasm
- If they expect a calm listener → Be their sounding board
💪 Exercise: Discover Your Natural Energy
Ask 9 people (3 friends, 3 colleagues, 3 family) how they see you:

Leader Energy – Confident, takes charge, drives decisions.

Enabler Energy – Builds trust, makes others feel at ease.
Understanding your default energy helps you adjust and connect faster with prospects.
Act 2: The Scene – Keep Them Engaged

💡 Pro Tip: Use Mirroring
Sanford Meisner, one of the greatest acting coaches, taught Repetition & Mirroring—where actors tune into their scene partner’s energy, tone, and emotions to create real connection.
You can do the same in sales:
- If they speak fast → Pick up the pace.
- If they are reserved → Slow down & match their calmness.
- If they are excited → Reflect their enthusiasm.
This activates the brain’s mirror neurons, making your prospect subconsciously feel: “This person gets me.”
Actors use this to build chemistry on stage. Sellers use it to build trust in sales conversations.
Try it on your next call and watch what happens. ✨
Act 3: The Exit – Reinforce the New Status Quo
📊 Fact: People remember the emotional peak and ending of an interaction most vividly.
Think about Sherlock Holmes: Do you remember him struggling with the case? Or do you remember that last scene where he unravels the story, step by step?
💡 Pro Tip: Reinforce the Transformation
Don’t just “wrap up” the conversation -> solidify the new reality.
- Recap each of their pain points and link them back to your solution.
- Paint the ideal future where their problems are solved—with you as the answer.

Buyers are 32% more likely to move forward when they feel their pain points have been truly understood.
Actors leave the audience with a lasting impression. Sellers leave prospects with a new reality—one where your solution fits seamlessly into their world.
