Winning Mindset in DACH

by Helena Klaus
Apr 16, 2025

What nobody tells you (but really should)

All things are difficult before they are easy.

Thomas Fuller

Sales in DACH just turned 3 months old 😍

And wow… what a ride.

📊 Customer success stories with +20% Conversion in just weeks

But as much as these wins mean to me... behind the scenes the past year has been incredibly tough for me and for so many of the sellers and sales leaders I speak to every week.

How come some sellers still manage to break through?
After speaking to dozens of them through the Sales in DACH Academy, I’ve noticed a pattern.

It’s not just about technique.
It’s not just about tools.
It’s about what’s going on behind all of this.

🧠 Their Winning Mindset.

And no, I don’t mean “just believe in yourself” or other Instagram-ready one-liners.

I’m talking about the real mindset work.
The kind that helps you handle 10 no’s before you get a yes.
The kind that helps you show up again, even when everything in you wants to tap out.

What the research says 👇

📚 According to Stanford’s Carol Dweck:
Sellers fall into 2 camps:

🔒 Fixed Mindset:
“They ghosted me… I must have messed it up.”

🔓 Growth Mindset:
“They ghosted me… okay, what can I try differently next time?”

📊 A LinkedIn study found that sellers with a growth mindset:
✔️ Are 33% more likely to hit quota
✔️ Ramp almost 2 weeks faster
✔️ Feel way more satisfied with their job (even when it’s tough)

But here’s where it gets really interesting:

In DACH, mindset matters more.

❌ You won’t win by being the loudest in the room.
✅ You win by showing up again and again. By building trust. By playing the long game.

So… what can you actually do?

Here are 3 mindset shifts I swear by (and teach in the Academy):

1️⃣ Stop hoping. Start owning.
Don’t say “I hope they reply.”
Say “I’ll make this follow-up worth replying to.”

YOU own your outreach. So take the control and get cracking!

2️⃣ Reframe rejection.
That “no” isn’t personal. It’s a data point.
Use it. Learn from it. Move forward.

3️⃣ Consistency > motivation.
You won’t always feel like it.
But showing up when it’s hard? That’s what builds your pipeline!

The sad truth...

A lot of sellers want to learn this stuff.
But only a few actually can, because access to great training is still a privilege.

Most companies cannot or don't want to offer a 1k learning budget.

But I have built Sales in DACH to change that.

So here’s what we’re going to do:

You can now get access to our FULL Academy:

  • 30+ Sales Experts
  • real DACH-specific Sales content, frameworks, templates
  • The Top Sales Tech Stack Offers (coming May)
  • Our monthly Happy Hour for you to join and ask your questions to the whole SID Hub 🤝
  • And all the other things we have planned for 2025

For just  👉 1€/day for a whole year.

Because education shouldn’t be a luxury!
It should be a game-changer for every seller in DACH.

Sales in North vs South of Germany 🇩🇪
After the D/A/CH edition took off, a bunch of you asked the obvious follow-up: What about inside the different countries?! The North-South / East-West divide is old, real, and still shapes how people do business today! That's why we decided to share a bit more insights into the different countries and start with Germany. ‼️ Disclaimer ‼️ This is a topic we can talk about for years and everyone ...
D≠A≠CH: 3 markets = 3 pitches
Do NOT treat "DACH" as one market with one pitch. Germany, Austria, and (German-speaking) Switzerland share a language, yes, but the Sales Culture does differ! Same words. Different rooms. ‼️Disclaimer: This week's newsletter is based on Conversations with Sales Reps and Research. If you're still not sure, find a Sales Rep in the country and ask them directly. They will have first-hand experien...
Turn GDPR in DACH into your Superpower 🦸
Most Sales Reps treat data protection like a checkbox or push it on to Legal to handle it In DACH, GDPR can be your superpower as it turns you into a trusted advisor rather than a seller. How you talk about data handling during the pitch, not after it, can be the thing that actually wins trust. The research: A representative survey of 2,000 German consumers found this: A third of Respondents sa...
